Today is a historical day. Forty eight years ago, a baby boy born in Gleneagles Hospital Singapore. Born at very early 2.54 morning and name given as SAMUEL GLENN VOERMAN

Born from the couple of Joost Samuel Voerman and Emelia Adolphine Sigarlaki. His father was just move away to new position as Sales Manager of Garuda Indonesia in Tokyo.

Whilst like as soon as He born, they are moved in to Tokyo Japan
He established a family, married twenty years ago and now as a father of one son and one daughter. Happily leaving in Bandung

Princess of Trophies

Like the title, this is belongs to my only and eldest daughter Angelique Gloriana Voerman. As her middle name, comes from the word Glory, in every opportunity she gaves a glory by win or achieve something to keep her parents proud. Trophy in the picture was for a English Master Ceremony in one of the English course located in Lembang. This was her first individual achievements, other than that while in a playgroup, she won a 3rd price trophy for ballet.
For the group achievement, her angklung orchestra has won the 2nd price amongst West Java, and interschool contest for 1st winner and some events held by Istana Plaza Shopping Mall.

My better half

She was born on Indonesian Independence day, so in her name the parents put 'proklamary' instead of Merdekawati etc.

An introvert and a little bit shy girl, now become a wiser and greater Mom to my son and my daughter.

She is listening a lot to what they say, advising everything, even when my son feel like someone in his school yet in his campus. Same things applies to my daughter.

My policy to family is we treat our children like a younger friend. So there will be no hesitation between children and parents.

Today, she is in a important meeting. With her humbleness, she is taking a greater responsibility and duty in her church where we married for more than 20 years ago.

AMAZING !

What happen in Travel Mart 2010 event held in well known STP Bandung, was amazing.

Someone has perform his duty as culture ambassador. His character is preety much introverted. Too shy to speech and too shy to sing. However with his character, he always play nice to all of his friends and his senior day by day. I witness when he perform. He throws out all of his possible negative characters and perform 1.000% of his best. And the leader announce the winner in amazing feeling call his name, "Joost Samuel" (Voerman) at the same time heavy rain falls, very much noisy seems like celebrating his fight against shyness. Hard training, regardsless during holiday;
and the pain is paid. At the end, everyone has choosing him in the anquette, choosen as

"FAVORITE CULTURE AMBASSADOR 2010 FROM NORTH SULEWESI"

We expressed our sincere highly appreciation for the hard work his done, standing on his feets 2 days continuously with full smile, welcoming the visitor during the Travel Mart to his booth.

doctor say my baby will be born 3rd week of December and I assume it on Christmas.
Imagine in Efrata, shepherd spread out the Good News from angels from the skies, they were singing to praise God. That's comes up the idea of 'Angelique Gloriana' given as her name.

my sisters

Jolanda Susanna Paat Voerman (my left), born in Palembang at 14 August is my eldest sister, whilst Wanda Ellen Voerman (my right), born in Jakarta at 3rd March is my youngest sister. Since the first daughter Marijke Giana Voerman 'Margie' is past away at the age of 15th, we lived as children of Voerman as three of it. We live along in love and caring as common as a family. And here I am as the only Son in between of them

My Parents

Our beloved Father Joost Samuel Voerman Sr, born in Singapore 13 April 1931 and passed away 30 April 1988, married in Jakarta 11 March 1957 to Emelia Adolphine Sigarlaki, born in Jakarta 1 June 1937 known as our beloved Mom and passed away 30 August 2006. They teach us love and care by example. In my memory, they ever sing a duet song and it was amazed us,.. it was "Endless Love" during their Silver Wedding at 1982

All the First

Firstly born son named Joost Samuel Voerman, Jr copied my father's name, nick name as Joel.
Joel born in Jakarta one month prior to Christmas on November 25th, 1991, a calm and introvert young man. Currently active in the college of a well-known Bandung Tourism Institute (STPB), learning to become a great itenerary conceptors and a tour leader. Following the tourism blood from his grand father towards.
Yet he is now manage his career in customer oriented job as a Book Consultant in VISI Bookstore located in Istana Plaza Bandung.

Firstly born daughter named Angelique Gloriana Voerman, called Angel.
Angel born in Surabaya one week prior to Christmas on December 16th, 1994, an outgoing extrovert girl. Active in a high school with usual top ranks in every evaluational period. As of her named explained her talent for music and singing. As she is studied Japanese Language at University of Educations follows (?) her dad tries to be a better Japanese Interpreter, just like Tensai Japanese Specialist. She is almost one year finished her study probably in cum laude.

Both of them are giving the parents an endless proud and thanks!

The Voerman's

It was a Dutch national trader Daniel Johannes Voerman, who arrives in Indonesia particularly in North Sulawesi then married to Manadonese Girl named Paulina Dotulong. That was the first generation of VOERMAN family. Daniel & Paulina given a 7 (seven) children, amongst them the 5th children is Johan Stolkamp Voerman with 6 (six) children, amongst them is Karel Lodewijk Voerman, nick name Kale who was the sailor of KPM Ducth Shipyard. Karel Lodewijk Voerman got 4 children. The eldest son was passed away while child. The second is Joost Samuel Voerman married to Emelia Adolphine Sigarlaki and given 4 children, Marijke Giana Voerman (Margie), Jolanda Suzanna Voerman, Samuel Glenn Voerman, Wanda Ellen Voerman. Margie has passed away in 15, while Jolanda has married to Japanese Indonesian Takehide Kikuchi/Tommy Ferdinand Paat, given the only daughter Natasha Gabriella Paat. Glenn has married to Dwiryani Proklamary Vivera Lontoh, and given a son and daughter Joost Samuel Voerman, Jr and Angelique Gloriana Voerman. This is the Voerman’s 6th generation. While the youngest daughter, Wanda choose herself for a single but happy status.

Family

Married to Dwiryani Proklamary Vivera Lontoh, the only daughter of DR. Sem Willem Lontoh, one of the West Indonesia Protestant Church (GPIB) leader in September 1990 located at GPIB Bethel Bandung. (see http://gpibbethel.wordpress.com) They were and given a son named Joost Samuel Voerman, Jr currently in Tourism Institute and daughter Angelique Gloriana Voerman went to high school level. They were a happy blessed family. Stepping their journey to 20th years of marriage and a simple trusty Christiant Actively serving the Savior through GPIB Bethel Bandung, through given skill and talent to praise the almighty Father in Jesus Christ. Remain unchanged with their weakness, giving the best to glorify the Saviour name.

A native Indonesian, comes from Kema-Air Madidi in Minahasa North Sulawesi, spokes English, fluent in Japanese and passive in Dutch. He believe that he is the fifth generation of Voerman, who was a native Dutch. Born in Singapore almost 50 years ago on the first day of LEO and spend almost 15 years in Tokyo Japan, following his father being the General Manager of Garuda Indonesia. So simply said Singapore born,
growth in Japan and Dutch blood Indonesian.
Glenn's career began as a Broadcaster back in 1984. He has a various experiences including Mandarin Oriental, Grupo Sol Melia, Sahid Jaya, Radisson, Shangri-La Hotel and Holiday Inn makes him really International oriented. Has managed various hotel such as Intan Legian in Kuta, Makassar Golden and pre-opening team of Clarion Makassar Hotel & Convention, then Aston Hotel property in West Kalimatan and Banana Inn Hotel & Spa in Bandung. His other activities include being a Lecturer in Dr. Soetomo University in Surabaya for Sociology of Japan, also some several interpreter services such as 30th Commemoration of Asia Africa Conference in Bandung.
His extensive organization skill were contributed to Toastmaster Club in Surabaya as a founding father,also Hotel's Marketing Community both in Surabaya & Yogyakarta then also with Indonesian Congress & Convention Organization (INCCA) both in Bandung & Jakarta as a Board of Directors.And lately he play his role in Kuta Executive Club also as a Secretary General of The Casa Grande Forum in Makassar.
Over 20 years of career journey were start from University. Named Padjadjaran University in Bandung. Where he started his career as producer / announcer for
Japanese Hours in Bandung at 1332kHz. Besides he is also listed as one of talented Japanese Translator & Interpreter as he develop his small business 天才 TENSAI Specialist of Japan. see http//tensai-japanese.blogspot.com His thorough knowledge of Japanese Language & Society brings him to hotel industry a Mandarin Oriental Jakarta as his start in hotel / tourism career. Yet he has the luxury to met the President of Republic of Indonesia in various event and opportunities. With Mr. B.J. Habibie in ITB Berlin, handled K.H. Abdurrachman Wahid (Gus Dur) stays in Hotel Intan Legian, also Welcomed Mrs. Megawati Soekarno Putri in Sahid Jaya Hotel & lastly warmly welcomed elected Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at Hotel Makassar Golden. He then contributed to the opening of newly established Clarion Makassar Hotel & Convention, Aston Ketapang City Hotel & Banana Inn Hotel & Spa in Bandung..
He is currently run a business call Bakti Shalom Persada Group, doing interprator, financial & marketing consultant, cellular business and event handling activities.

A creative personnel with full idea for innovation wherever he works for; from social organizations, religious activity up to any kind of job including journalism, entertainment and tourism industry. He is an introvert funky guy, positive oriented, shelter, protective, honest, quick speaker but quick learner, patient with an ability to look unseen and people oriented leader which this characters similar to astrology of Leo.
He likes Jazzy music mostly instrumental like Casiopea, Fourplay, Mezzoforte, Incognito etc. Basically he likes a good music. He is a songwriter, and all of the 12 (twelve) songs were religious songs. All performs by his church teenager’s singer group GLORIAN in the past.He plays music since 7th years old, starting from Piano, Electone, Acoustic Guitar & as a Drummer lately. He then formed a Band back in 1976 until 1980 and performed in every festive event in his school also during Church's charity event in 90s. And of course he can sing! His favorite songs are Lionel Richie's EASY, Basil Vadez's YOU, James Ingram’s JUST ONCE.
He likes sports and he has a very strong Baseball basicly being long time in Japan and he was a good player!! This late decade he enjoy watching European football mainly Lega Calcio with his favorite team is Il diavolo rosso AC Milan
